So i tried shooting some steel cased "tul ammo" i got a walmart. Shot fine till about the 90th round, which stuck in the chamber, and the extractor broke off the back rim of the casing. Extractor is fine, but i cant get the casing out. I had a wooden dowel with me at the time so i tried to pop it out with that, ended up breaking halfway down the barrel so now i have that portion stuck in there. I drilled out the primer from the other side, hoping i could push the dowel out but the piece of metal i was using to push through the primer hole broke off in there too.  I soaked it in carb cleaner hoping it would eat up some of the gum holding it in, but it didnt do anything. I got a brass rod to push the wooden one which i was hoping would push the casing, but the brass gets stuck in the wood and makes it expand in the barrel. Anyways its a big mess now and i need more suggestions. I would prefer to conquer this myself rather than taking it to a gunsmith, but i suppose at this point it might be the best option.

Single piece cleaning rod down the muzzle would have gotten the round out fine with the bolt locked back.

At  this point, best to just take the upper to a  smith to have the problem resolved.

Was the bolt and carrier removed from the upper when you attemped to drive out the casing with a wooden dowel?
