I am trying to remove the front sight post from a Colt M4 upper. With the pin depressed all the way down, I can turn the sight forever and it does not move.
I've heard that the night sight post has two flanges so that you can move the dot rearward after adjusting elevation. However, I am pretty sure that I am pushing the pin all the way down. Any suggestions? ML |

ML don't know if you're trying to remove the night sights. yes, they move independently. try a toothpick or something to move both. the "tool" should work also. if it's the Colt one, you'll get it |

Thanks for all your help guys.
I finally got it done with a very small screwdriver, a flashlight, a magnifying glass and a lot of cursing. I have "the tool" but I'll be dammed if I know where it is. Of course, I found the A1 sight adjustment tool right away. Now the fat and dead OEM night sight is gone and I have a nice new slim Colt from sight installed. Thanks again, guys. ML |
