| I am looking to purchase an H Buffer to alleviate some ejection issues and am unsure of which would fit best. The rifle is an M&P 15 MOE 16" Carbine All of my casings end up in the ~2 O'Clock of my shooting area. My shell deflector has an area wearing through the finish on the corner / edge of the deflector closest to the chamber. I browsed around and most users simply state they are using an H Buffer. Most sites sell H , H2 , and H3 buffers. I am curious as to which buffer would fit the bill for this over gassing issue. Thanks for any info. |

Pull back on the charging handle all the way back, and confirm that the front face of the bolt stops before the back of the ejection port (1/4" to 3/8" forward, but the bolt face still retracting behind the bolt catch).
If the face of the bolt is allowed to retract to or behind the back edge of the port, then the spent casings will be defected off the port, instead of cleanly out of the port as it is being pivoted off the bolt face at rearward buffer stall. So, the solution to your ejection problem may not be a heaver buffer, which the heaver buffer may induce short stroking, but in fact the end of the tube shorten so it can be threaded in more to achieve the needed bolt face to back of port distance buffering when the math of the buffer and B/C are added up in the void of the receiver extension. |
