so i have been having some problems with my weopon jamming and misfiring. I tried my friends lower with a CAA butt stock and didnt have one problem. So my question is can my cheap buttstock spring be the problem, Has anyone ever had this problem or heard of it?
And my rifle is pretty new only about 150-200 rounds thru it. I actually pushed down on his buffer tube and mine, and his was alot harder to push then mine. |

sure thing, the misfiring is the bullet not being hit hard enough by the firing pin and here is a pic of the jams. http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/7964/0imag0028.jpg
Sorry for it being so big, So have you ever heard of a cheap butt stock assembly causing this kind of stuff |

Misfire in regards to the recoil spring would be that the bolt is not fully locking up correctly and causing the light primer strike (back of the carrier blocking the FP since it is supposed to do that if the bolt is not fully lock up).
The jam is coming from the extractor not retaining the spent case on the bolt face until the back of stoke. Only one question does come to mind before I give any further advice, and that is if you only load a single round into a mag, charge and fire the single round with the empty mag still left in the rifle, does the bolt lock back on the bolt catch. Yes the problem could be a weak recoil spring, leading to a bit of over function, but need to know if the bolt is locking back, rifle full stroking to begin with before I sugest that you go for a replacement spring. Note: if both you and your freind both have telescoping stocks, try just swapping recoils spring out with each other for some testing. |
