went hunting this morning and took my AP4 along, ive gotta say ive had this gun for about 4 years, carried it on patrol, great rifle never had any problems
i unloaded it when i was done and as i was putting the round back in the mag. i noticed that the firing pin had left a small "pin" dot on the primer....at first i just
thought it was carbon from the firing pin, but brushed it off and it was actually a mark

id say its about 1/4 depth of when the pin actually hits the primer, but its def. noticeable...im using the heavy grained TAP, ive never noticed this issue before
when i pull the mags...

The dimple is normal. The firing pin is free floating, no spring.

Happens all the time.  It's the reason soft primers can be a bad thing in an AR
