I have a DPMS 6.8spc. I've fired about 500 rounds flawlessly  since built. Now while at the range and rapid fire about 120 rounds with some cool down after 30 rd clips the extractor claw broke leaving the gun useless. The case left came out with no effort after cooled. It was pretty hot, but I wondered if I was in a firefight how screwed I'd be. Is it that common and is there a more durable extractor than the OE dpms one?

Extractors break. Carry a spare bolt and fix most problems with a simple field strip.

Your rifle breaking is why you carry a pistol...
