Need some experts here on the AR...I am relatively new to ARs
I have a Bushmaster V Match that I am completley satisfied with..
It is super accurate with ammo it likes.
Here is a 3 shot group with some test loads I was testing yesterday at 100yds.

What I want to know is....while cleaning my rifle......running the cleaning patch down through the bore...at the gas block...I can feel a catch(?) through the patch and rod.
I assume this is where the gas port is?????
Is it normal to feel this area in the bore through the cleaning rod while cleaning???????

Barrel cannot be screwed up....with groups like above.

Thanks so much

Yes, it's the gas port.

Is it normal to feel the gas port while cleaning ARs and not a concern?

It happens often enough.  I wouldn't be concerned, your groups speak for themselves.

If I could shoot groups like that, a little snag at the port would be the least of my worries.

Course, maybe if you get that little snag out of there, maybe you could get a .224 3 shot group instead of those horrendous groups you've been shooting

Probably a bit of a burr at the gas port. This will eventually erode away.

You only need to be concerned if it is a large visible burr. I saw an old American Spirit Arms rifle fold the burr over and into the gas port after a few rounds. This turned the rifle into a single shot.
