Model1Sales 16" upper (assembled by M1S), RRA lower w/ 2stage trigger, assembled by me.  Load the Pmag with a few rounds, install mag in AR, pull the charging handle back, and the round gets stuck on barrel extension.  That guides the tip of the bullet into the barrel. Should I run a few rounds through it, the gun still hasn't been fired?

where exactly is it stuck on thee barrel extension? if stuck between the 2 bullet guides then I assume its the barrel extension, but that is rare. If stuck just below the bullet guide, then try a different mag like an mil-spec alloy mag. Any new rifle shouldnt be doing this at all. Check for burrs on the follower and lips of the mag.

Are you riding the charging handle back down? If so, do not do that. Pull back and let fly. If that isn't what is happening then carry on.

If the tip of the bullet is just into the barrel extension with the bolt locked up (FA will not walk the bolt home), then it could be that the hammer is catching the firing pin collar (if the carrier is not shrouded).

M4 feed ramps?  There should be a smooth (or downward/inward) transition step from the the upper receiver extended feed ramps to the feed ramps on the barrel extension.  If there is a step up, the bullet will catch.

yea it is the barrel extension
I am riding the handle. I tried cheap monarch .223  and remington and 5.56. I took the upper off and it catches even when I use my finger to load the bullet.

Never ride the handle back down!!!

Either pull the charging handle all the way back and let go,
or lock the bolt back on the catch and hit the release button to charge the weapon.

Loads the round on the right, but not on the left. When I let the charging handle fly back.

Clean up the burs on the end of the barrel extension ramps (tips), and on the under side of the mag feel lips.

I just wasn't sure if it was ok for me to stick a file in there.  OK I'll do it here shortly!

I used a file to debur the edges, and it loads a round. But now it scores the round a lot. I will run a few rounds thru it and see if it keeps doing it!
