Ive had my stag arms ar15 for about 2 years now, and the really loose fit between the upper and the lower is really annoying, the problem is, if you look on the left side of the rifle IE the side with the safety selector, the upper is forward and pushed to the right, and you can see a lot of light between half's , what is causing this problem the upper or the lower, i was planning on just buying a stripped lower or a stripped upper to remedy this, and yes Ive tried the accuwedge and everything else known to man, don't want the jp pin either, if needed i can post pics showing what im talking about

thanks in advance

Measure the holes that attach the upper to the lower.  Measure their diameter then measure front to back.  Everything should be equal.  If you, you know your problem.

Do the o-ring trick, your receivers are probably at the extreme ends of spec like my 6920.  If the gun functions, don't go swapping out parts (don't ask how I know this ).
