Ok guys, I got an odd one for you tonight.  I was trying to get the ejector out of the bolt so I could tune the spring and keep my brass from flying 10 feet through the air.  I got a small hammer and 1/16 inch punch and started tapping on the roll pin that holds the ejector in, but it wouldn't budge.  So I started hitting it a little harder until it finally broke loose and a little more than half way through my damn punch snapped like a toothpick.  I was able to get the roll pin out with some pliers, but no I've got part of my 1/16 inch punch stuck in the hole with about 2 mm sticking out.  I got a pair of pliers and pulled on it as hard as I could and spent about 15 minutes messing with it and that damn thing just won't move.  Any ideas?  I figured I would go to the hardware store tomorrow and get another 1/16 inch punch but if I can't pull the piece out with pliers I don't know if another punch is gonna do the trick.  This is really starting to piss me off.  I hope I didn't damage the bolt, I tried to be as careful as possible but I'm a bit worried about the hole that the roll pin goes in, and the roll pin is messed up from where I had to pull it out with pliers but that's no big deal.  Anyone else ever have this issue?  Is there a chance that I ruined my bolt?  And what do you guys use as a base when tapping out roll pins and stuff like that?  I was using a 2x4 but it was hard to hold the bolt still so I could keep the punch lined up.

Thanks,
 Matt

The pin is 1/16" and you need the next size down punch.

With the new correct size punch, drive the old snapped out piece the way it was driving in.

Oh damn, well that makes sense now.  The damn tutorial thing I read said to use a 1/16 inch punch, and I don't have a smaller one than that.  Where can I get a punch smaller than 1/16 inch?  Do I have to buy an armorer's punch set?  I do need to buy some different ones anyways, the ones I have now aren't brass.  Is there any chance that I ruined my bolt?  How do I tell if it is damaged besides just looking at it?

Thanks,
 Matt

If you do not depress the ejector against the bolt face when removing it... This whole operation becomes much more involved.
