do you have to tig weld or could you gas weld on a lower

Tig, with the area to be weld completely removed of any surface anodizing first.

Once Tig'g, seam flushed, and re-blasted, then the receiver has to be re-anodized.

Simply, unless you are doing this yourself, it's cheaper to just buy another semi auto receiver.

Yes i have done this many times to weld over the Ghey animals that some companies like to stamp on their lowers........i agree with the previous post though...if you dont own a TIG and are EXTREMELY experienced with welding aluminum dont do it because aluminum is not easy to weld and anyone who is experienced will probably charge you more than the stripped lower is worth for welding and grinding it.
