I have a DPMS AR-15. Went to the range the other day and was shooting .22 using a ceiner conversion kit. After firing the .22, switched back to .223. First round fired. Then it jammed. The bcg was stuck. Cleared this using the butt stroke method. At this point I was able to separate the upper from the lower and remove the bcg. The live round/case could not be removed.
I searched other threads and tried using some lubricant/and other solvents to loosen the round. We tried using a cleaning rod without luck. Purchased a 1 piece brass rod as suggested in other threads. The brass rod did not work and ended up bending. I still cannot remove the round. Any other suggestions for removing the round/case?? Thanks. |

did the same thing last week when cleaning though mine has a patch stuck. i tried a wood rod, it broke and got stuck. tried a brass rod on other side but bent as well. i ended up taking it to a gunsmith and he's fixing it this weekend.
this is the order of stuck things from muzzle to chamber. patch with small steel rod in center, 2 qtips, patch, broken wood rod. just take it to a gunsmith and have him get it out. |
