I have never noticed this before....... but I just field stripped and cleaned my bushy, when I was doing an ops check and cycled a few rounds through, I noticed that each bullet (not the case) was getting a pretty good sized scratch that pretty much ran the length of the projectile.  It looks like it is happening as the round is chambered and the lugs guiding the round in are scarring the bullet.  Is this normal or did I jack something up?  It seems as though this scarring would greatly affect the accuracy of the projectile, not to mention I am sure it won't help the barrel.http://thumb5.webshots.net/t/55/755/0/71/3/2410071030103489765jyUxaA_th.jpg

Scoring is normal. As far as damaging the barrel? I wouldnt think so cause the copper jacket is much softer than the steel of the barrel.

Burs at the end of the barrel feed ramps inside the barrel extension (first photo).

Use a small jeweler's file and remove the production milling burs off the tips of the ramps (read don't rework the ramps, just knock off the  tip end burs).

Second and third rounds (deep scratches at the tips) are from the the rounds being cycled out by hand and scrapping off right hand side barrel extension lug (this is normal since the ejector will cam the case to the right as the tip clears the chamber during a manual pull, but the light scratches below these deep gouges are from the burs on the tips of the ramps at feeding).

Ok, that is kind of what I figured.  Thanks for confirming it for me!

All is normal wear. Don't worry about it. It's when you don't ask, is when Mr Murphy sneaks up on you.

That is happening on EXTRACTION.  The ejector forces the bullet into the lugs of the barrel extension.
