I just got a used Bushmaster A1/C7 upper receiver. The rear sight screw is too long, allowing the rear sight assembly to move side-to-side.
Is this an A2 rear sight screw?
Where's a good place to get the correct screw?

The movement your experiencing is normal.

It has about 1/8" of movement. I've had several A1 uppers and this is a long way from normal.

Both my Colt slick side, and my BM C7 upper have lateral movement in the windage screw of the rear sight. The windage drum detent spring is designed to take the movement out of the assembly. This play is normal.
Pics coming.......

I don’t know how your measuring the play your seeing in your rear sight, but I measured mine with my calibrated digital calipers.
