| Hey, I have a new upper. I can't get the charging handle to slide forward in it. It will drop through the first couple notches just fine but won't slide forward. It's almost as if the groves aren't deep enough inside the upper. I have tried several different charging handles too. |

My charging handles are various makes. I don't know who made the upper receiver. I bought the entire assembled upper from an outfit online that I hesitate to mention at this time. I am waiting to hear from their tech department and see how they will handle it. Is it possible I could grind off just a tad on the tabs of the charging handle? I can see the channels inside the receiver, they evidently are shallower than normal. |

The charging handle does not insert from the very back, but install the tip into the receiver a little bit, then lift the CH upwards to match the tabs in it to the open slot in the bottom of the upper track, then the CH should slide forward without problems. If the CH is a tad tight once installed correctly, make sure that the upper track slot has been lubed, and work it a few times to mate the two together. |
