does anyone know how to remove the pin from the lock nut.  this would be on the release lever.......please help!

If you're referring to a collapsible stock, I haven't seen one where you have to pull that pin  to take the stock off.  I just pull out on the lever instead of pushing on it so it comes out of the channel on the receiver extension & the stock slides off.

Offhand, I'd say drive it out with a roll pin punch.

To add/clarify, make sure that you are pulling down on the entire lever, not just cam'd to one side like when you change positions. With the lever pulled all the way down, the butt stock will slide off the back of the tube.

And again as stated, a punch will drive the castle nut pin out of the detent pin. But, this should only be done to adjust the depth of the detent in the receiver extension holes, and not to remove the butt stock off the back end of the tube (see above note on how to do that).
