I have an AR15A4, my problem is that when I went to the range yesterday, I had problems with the weapon not ejecting, I bought a new DPMS bolt carrier group, the previous bolt carrier group was worn but never had a problem with ejecting or feeding, the weapon was clean prior to firing, I broke the weapon down and ran some new factory ammo through the chamber to see if it was the ammo, once the ammo was in the chamber, it came right out with out any problems, but once I put the entire bolt carrier in thats when I have problems, it will not entirly seat, I just ran a test with putting a round in the chamber minus the ejector and it will seat, and after the bolt is removed the round comes out after you invert it, my question is, can it be the ejector? I have also noticed that there is a small rubber plug housed by the ejector spring, can that cause or be the problem?

That “rubber plug” is your Extractor Spring Insert”, it belongs there. Have you ever cleaned the chamber on this rifle?

I always do, force of habit after 20 years in the Marines

Remove the extractor and check for burrs at the ends of the extractor groove. If you still have the old bolt assembly, I would try replacing the new extractor with the old one and see if that works.

My thoughts exactly, I have also took note that on my old extractor, there was no rubber plug and never had a problem, I also cut out a small part on the new one and it seemed to help a little
