Just received my first ar.  It is an LMT 16" and LMT F/A BCG.
I don't have my chamber brush yet(it is on the way)but figured I could try
to clean it up as best I could and use it.

I have had two failure to extracts in 30 rounds.  It rips the rim off.  On the rounds it
ejects the rim is almost ripped off.

I am shooting privi partisan M855.

I am going to really scrub the chamber when the brush gets here but was just wanted to get a head start on ideas in case that doesn't work.

So please post any ideas or concerns I should have.

thanks
Jason

Could be the brass in that particular batch is too brittle...

I would suggest buying say 40 rounds of another brand and trying that.

Or you could have some type of buildup in the chamber. The brass expands after being fired, and it could be expanding around this buildup, causing your fte.

Is there a residue on the side of the non-extracted shells?

no residue on the brass, I will try some different ammo
and as soon as the chamber brush gets here I am going to scrub the chamber

I just hope the problem is not my gun.

thanks,
