I just installed three new items on my AR15 (14.5  Colt FF barrel stag upper and lower).

MSTN QC brake

Hydraulic Buffer

RRA trigger

After all that my gun now short strokes and the carrier rides across the top of round to be chamber.  Leaving a long gouge in the case.

Any ideas?  I think it is the buffer.

If you did not back up/vise the barrel when you pulled the FS and installed the brake, the barrel extension may have slipped/off indexed and not the bolt is not cleanly releasing from the barrel extension.  Also to point it out, with a 14.5" barrel , the extended muzzle device has to be permanently installed on the barrel or you have a SBR rifle on your hands (read BATF controlled item).

You went to a different/heaver type of buffer system, and it could be that the gas system is not set up for such.

The RRA trigger should be fine as long as you checked it for hammer wedging.

Has the rifle passed a shot stroke test?

Single round loaded into a mag, that mag/ round charged and fired, with the end correct result of the test being the bolt locked back on the bolt catch since the rifle has self cycled on a empty mag.
