I replaced the fixed stock with a collapsible. I had years of plinking joy with my bushie lower until recently. After I replaced the stock-using the spring a buffer given, the gun would multiple. Every so often, a double or triple. I replaced the spring and it went away (a little). It will not double at all if I pull and hold the trigger all the way back so the hooks can engage. 90 slow shots, not a problem. I was thinking that there must be something in the sear assembly that must be worn, or the spring buffer combo is causing something to go awry. Because I had success with holding the trigger, I am not writing this off as dirty gun, stuck firing pin. Are my conclusions off, and if I need to replace the trigger- not going back to the fixed stock- any recommendations? |

If the disco and secondary hammer sear (the rear one) are still in good working order, including the disco spring, just bring the disco back into timing. This done by removing metal from the front bottom of the disco where it contacts/limits out cam'g forward on the front/top of the trigger. As for how much metal you will need to remove, it is a free gap issue that you will use for the judge. With just the lower in hand, pull back on the hammer until the rear hammer sear gets as close to the disco sear (hammer cocked back about 7/8's the way, and don't touch the trigger). This free gap between the two parts should be in the .003 ramp, and best guess you will find that the gap is much larger than that, allowing you to bump the trigger easier since the trigger does not have to return all the way forward for disco release at reset. Take you time, and remove a little metal at a time and test. When it's all done, you want the free gap in the .001 range (read about the gap of a hair between the two sears with the trigger at rest). |
