I assume the weapon is clean and properly lubed? Start with the usual suspects of gas leakage around the front sight base and bolt carrier key. Ensure the carrier key is tight. Ensure the bolt carrier slides freely in the upper. You should be able to "cycle" the bolt group through its range of motion with the upper removed from the lower with a finger inserted into the back of the carrier. Use a known good magazine to ensure there isn't some issue with it requiring too much force for the bolt to strip and chamber a round. |
