I recently took my first AR build out for its maiden voyage. It is a stag arms lower and a Del-Ton 16" heavy barrel w/chrome. 20 rounds of Federal Classic 55gr sp ammo and 100 rounds of reloaded ammo operated flawlessly. Upon trying some WOLF 62 gr ammo, the first round refused to extract. An inspection of the extractor shows that it appears to be intact but the case wont extract. Any help would be apreciated.

give the gun a bit more of a workout before shooting wolf in it. it's hardly begun to get worn in yet.

Its an ammo-related problem... Wolf is notorious for doing this. Your rifle is fine. Shoot more brass, then try Wolf periodically and see if it will shoot. Resist the temptation to futz with your barrel/chamber just to make crappy ammo run in it.

What is the preferred method of removing the stuck case? My plan was to try and push it out with a cleaning rod. What would be the next plan of attack if that doesnt work?

the cleaning rod will work. think of it like packing a muzzle loader.

Only if the bolt is unlock and locked back on the catch, will the cleaning rod work.

If the bolt is locked closed on the stuck spent case, you will need unlock the bolt first (chances are this will eject the spent case as well).

This is done by pulling down on the charging handle will giving the butt stoke a good blow off the ground.  If you have a carbine stock, remove it first by pulling down on the stock cam lever (the entire lever and not just to one side) and pull the stock off the back of the receiver extension (the tube).

P.S. Welcome to the site!!!
