I purchased an armalite in new condition and I have a few questions about wear. I have shot about 300 rounds and during my last cleaning i noticed 2 wear marks/gouges in the inside of my upper reciever. Please take a look at these photos and let me know what you think. Are these normal?

I have read about wear marks but these look like gouges.  Also the BCG has no noticable wear or transfer marks on it. And i haven't yet taken the BCG apart.

Please let me know what to do, as i dont want to further damage the upper.

There is a little extra slop between the cam and carrier slot that is causing the problem, but for the most part, normal wear.

That's the cleanest and driest upper I've seen in a while! Throw some lube on that bad boy and keep shooting.

Cool, ya i cleaned the oil off, i was afraid the flash would just reflect some nasty glare.

Well Armalite said it was normal. Also that they have made improvements to newer rifles that prevent this wear.

Thanks for the peace of mind tho...
