I think I have a small scratch in the middle of my barrel. It's an area that no matter how much I clean it, it still remains. Is this going to affect the accuracy? Can anything be done to fix it?

Dumb question that must be asked...
are you mistaking the gas port for a scratch?

Nah, It's about 4 inches down from the muzzle. The entire barrel length looks smooth except for a small, what looks like a scratch, imperfection. I've only ever used a bore snake for cleaning and can;t figure out what would have caused it. I'm concerned that my barrel is now junk and has to be replaced. It's a bushmaster DCM with only about 2k rounds through it so far.

Can you post a photo of the scratch?

Also, the bore snake may work fine between a few shot strings at the range, but to correctly clean the barrel, you will need a complete cleaning rod type cleaning kit, including a chamber brush.

P.S. Welcome to the site!!!

You can use some elbow grease and try JB Bore paste on a patch jag. Or you can get a lapping kit and fire some very reduced loads through it and get faster results.
