My Stag arms lower/ del-ton 20" upper has been short stroking and I was wondering if the fact that my stag arms hammer sticks up above the lower more, and doesnt have the notch cut out on it like my bushmaster hammer does, if that extra drag on the bottom bolt carrier group doesnt have an effect of helping to cause my gun to shortstroke, when I charge the handle and it gets to where the bcg hits the hammer there is more force required to charge the gun than on the bushmaster thats why I was wondering also I was wonder if someone has a link to or info on how to properly seal up and stake a gas key, I just used red locktite to seal up around the gas key between the key aand carrier, torqued it and staked it with a punch but now I'm hearing that I was supposed to use new screws- whoops- the gas key on my del-ton upper wasnt torqued at all and I could see more carbon buildup around it that on my bushmaster so it was losing gas and I tried to fix that. I also have a wolf reduced buffer spring on order to see if that helps my short stroking issues, I've tried two different 20" barrels with the same bcg and lower ass. and they've shortstroked with wolf ammo. so I dont think its the fsb and the mushroom on the gas tube looks good and wearing even changing the bcg with my bushmaster improved the problem A LOT but it still has issues with short stroking |

From the "Read this before posting" thread. www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=122 And, have you tried different ammo than wolf in the rifle; after you have cleaned the old Polyurethane powderized fouling out of the barrel via a chamber brush? |
