If I am switching my 6 position collapsable stock on my Bushmaster M4 with a Cavalry Arms Collapsable stock, do I need to buy the tube, buffer, and buffer spring, and replace all the parts? Or are they interchangeable? Cant I just switch out the buttstocks?

I don't believe either of those is Mil-Spec, so you should be good just swapping stock bodies (not tubes). If one is and the other isn't, then you will have to change the tube, but not the guts (spring & buffer).

While on the subject, I know some manufacturers buffer tubes have an exterior diameter different than milspec. What is the difference in the measurements?
