Hi all

I started reloading my own .223 ammo and was wondering that is Vihtavuori N140 gunpowder too slow for semi auto rifle? Why I'm asking this is because my Bushmaster 16" is extracting brass so violently with reloads that are from reloading book and from the mildest load 25.8grain and 55 grain FMJBT -bullet. Brass seems to hit the sharp edge of case deflector where is cutting of ejection hole.. I haven't seen same ejection on factory loaded ammo.

What do you think that is it safe to shoot that load or will it brake my rifle?

And btw. I noticed that it cycled quite normally when those cases were not crimped. I only crimp lightly, though..

Any help greatly appreciated!

Yes,
Something like N-530 for the 55 gr would have been a better choice in the Vihtavuori brand.
