Recently test-fired my AR NM. First round functioned perfectly. Second round fed, but did not fire. Noted identation on primer after ejecting round. I duplicated the process a few times with the same result; misfire on second round. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

The hammer is probably following the carrier down instead of being caught by the disconnector. Open up the rifle and using your thumb to control the hammer drop it to the fired position. Now while holding the trigger depressed cock the hammer all the way back. The disconnector should catch it. Then as you release the trigger the hammer is released by the disconnector and caught by the sear. When out shooting if you have a misfire you should keep the bbl pointed at the target for 10 seconds or so. Then attempt to put the safe on. If it rotates into position then you know the hammer is cocked. If the safety won't go to safe them the hammer has followed down. rj |

I'm interested in the outcome of this. I had a similar problem. Link Welcome to the site, by the way. |
