| This horse has been beaten beyond all recognition I know I'm sorry but..... The upper is a 14.5 LMT and CMT B&C and i've had the ftex since day one. I thought I could figure this out on my own by reading from the wealth of knowledge on this site (thank you all). O-ring, Wolff extraction spring, 9mm buffer, no difference. Now for ammo... Wolf 99% no problems ,every thing else ftex. I shot some M855 for the first time today, WOW it really doesn't like this crap! Almost every round stayed in the chamber with the next round shoved into the back of it. Another thing I've noticed is the shells barley limp out of the port accept wolf, it slings that junk out fine. It's about Half and half, shell stays in chamber or pulls half way out with new round wedged under it. It is not short stroking and the chamber is smooth and clean. I'd hate to waste the money on a new bolt if I'd be better off with a new barrel and settling for wolf ammo is unacceptable. I plan on calling Paul at Bravo after the weekend but thought I'd post here while I wait. This thing might as well be a hammer in it's current state any info or sarcasm will be appreciated. |

Bust out a chamber brush on there. Sounds like you have your extractor squared away, so that is the next most logical place to look, and definitely makes sense since different types of ammo are acting differently. Also, it may be the issue of mixing them. Read this over and see if it looks like your problem: www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu18.htm |
| I don't think the residue is the problem. The first shot yesterday (and several after) was the M855 with a clean chamber and it stayed in the chamber. Also the shell is not stuck, after clearing the action slamming the bolt home it extracts and ejects it out fine. |
Whoops so much for reading comprehension. I'm with Dano, send it back and have it checked out. |
| I had the same problem and went through all the gyrations you have. Nothing worked 100% until I switched to a chrome lined barrel. I can't make my XM177 jam now; it runs until it is so hot I have to slow down or get scorched! My opinion, for what it is worth, is that you need a chrome lined barrel, especially if you are going to shoot in quantity or fast. If you already have a chrome lined barrel, you need to send the barrel/upper back for a serious quality control check and repair. The military learned the lesson of chrome lining years ago in Vietnam when the rifle was first introduced. Good luck. |
| When was the chamber cleaned? you mentioned it runs 99% fine with Wolf. I shoot Wolf and the chamber WILL become gummed up with carbon deposits, which can cause stuck case problems with Wolf cases and any other cases. Break out your chamber brush, a solid rod, and a cordless drill. |
