how many rounds should a clean AR fire before it starts to choke? I have a RR M4 style that is new to me, and it will only go about 200-250 rounds before I have to use the FA. I have been cleaning with CLP, and I have tried 4 types of ammo, and several different mags. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Milton

If you have to use the FA after 200-250 rounds consistently then you may be lubing too much.

I've never had to use the FA and I'll usually have at least one 500-700 round firing day per month (usually two). I live in the southern NM desert, so I always lubed very lightly. I've seen ARs gunk up (at least in this dusty/sandy area) when they are lubed heavily.
