I just put together a riffle from a kit from del-ton and shot it for the first time over the weekend.  This is my first AR so I don't know too much about them.  After shooting several rounds through the gun I noticed  there there were brass marks on the piece that sticks out from the lower, right behind the bolt.  I don't know if this is normal or not.  If anyone cal help that would be great.  I don't have any pictures yet, but I will try to get some.  Thanks again

Normal.  That pointy bump is a brass deflector, to keep the empties from coming straight back.  The brass scuffs will clean off fairly easliy.  If there are significant dents there, I might be concerned.

In fact I like my brass marks on my deflector.  It shows that I actually shoot my ARs and not just finger fuck admire them from afar.
