[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Problems sighting my AR

Rifle: Flattop RRA upper with a Armalite A2 carry handle

Problem: Had to bring the front sight post up really high just to get in the black at 100 yards... The back sight is bottomed out.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hmm, is it an RRA factory rifle? Sounds like the wrong front sight base... unless I've got my heights mixed up for standard vs. F-marked FSBs.

You might need to get one of the taller front sight posts that Bushmaster sells.

No, dead on in regards to the point, but the "F" marked FSB are a Colt kind of thing.

Well does that mean that something is wrong with the rifle? I don't see any "F" marking on the FSB. The FSB does say "4BI2". Does anyone know what that means?
