[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help

Tore the threads off of the end of the barrel while taking the A-2 falsh hider. This is a colt H-Bar 20" 1/7. Any ideas on how to re-thread it to put on a new flash hider.

I had it legal for ban with pin, and threads were damaged. Can not be saved, it definitely needs new threads.

Send it to an AR specialist like ADCO. They do excellent work, and have a fast turnaround time (usually not more than a few days). It is not likely to be a do-it-yourself fix.

depends on how bad "tore off" is, if the threads are just a little messed up you can pick up a 1/2-28 die at the hardware store and chase the threads.
