| I am trying to figure out what's the deal with my uncles ar upper. he's got a model 1 upper that wouldn't shoot for nothing. It shot okay when he bought it new but after he installed a new handguard accuracy went to poop. I've tried all my good loads&good match ammo through it with bad results. I'm thinking something's not put back correctly after the handguard install. any thoughts on this? |

Could be as simple as the scope going south as Tweak has pointed out (dancing POA due to the retension optic spring going weak). Try changing out the scope to a know good working one. Trust me, I have a BSA on a flat top that goes south about every year. I keep meaning to just chuck the dam thing, but BSA keeps replaces it for no cost. I can tell when it going bad because my groups open up, and does not hold the same POA over a few mags (rifle allowed to cool between mags). |

if this occured after installin a FF tube for the hand guard, i'd start lookin real hard at it.... is it mounted exactly to mfg's recomendations?...... it's sounding like it's contacting one of the recievers somewhere it's not supposed to, or the bbl....... i'd also check to make sure the FSB is secure, and that any muzzle attachment is as it should be....it could be as simple as a flash hider out of alignment.... keep us posted on what the fix is skintback |
