Yesterday at the range round #1 fired but would not eject. Removed mag and closed bolt tight. Pulled on charging handle and brought butt stock down onto table and round still would not eject but the bolt would come back. Put a cleaning rod down barrel and had to wack with a piece of wood several times (HARD) UNTILL casing finally came out. WTF. About 11/2 mags later had a miss fire and would not eject. Tried recocking and fireing several time to no availe. Waited 10 min and put cleaning rod down barrel and round just fell out with out resistence. ![]() This all happend using wolf ammo from mixed cases of HP and FMJ. After this I suscessfully fired 30 rounds of xm193 and alomost as much of the wolf without any more porblems. IS This somthing I need to be concerned about in the future? was it the wolf ammo? Have fired less than 500 rounds through rifle. Any help appreciated |
I guess it is possible. Was it the older lacquered stuff? If so, it could have gunked up the chamber and caused a stuck case. But I wouldn't think that this would happen on the first round on a cold rifle. |

no it was the new polimer coated. though I had not cleaned it for the last 2-3 times I've shot it so maybe it was dirty. I did notice on at least on of my spent casings I found a blackish film maybe it was just dirty oil or residue and that might have been the problem. i took it home and cleaned the bore, chamber, bolt and carrier (all moving parts). I'm hoping next time I take it to the range this will not be a recuring issue. thanks for your input. |
| Some guns like Wolf... others don't. I choose not to shoot Wolf because I cannot trust it 100%. Try a few hundred rounds of good quality brass-cased ammo; if it gives you no difficulty then stick with it. Others here will give you advice on how you need to "fix" your rifle so it can shoot Wolf and other cheap ammo, but I think that is erroneous advice. Now, if the rifle malfs with brass ammo, then come back here for more guidance. |

I use Hopps solevent and then follow with oil after removal or solovent. The rifle had not been cleaned pretty much since I bought it late april. All I initially did was wipe the excess oil of bolt and carrier and check the bore to make sure it was clear. Maybe that was a mistake and I should have given it a thurough pre cleaning. IS it true you should not clean a bore till you shot 500 rds to break it in? Oh yeah I have a new Bushmaster m-4 a3. |
| I am having the same problem and I too shoot the Wolf polymer. The difference is that it happens sometimes when I shoot my suppressor (AA M4 2000) I use Milspec 1 to lubricate the rifle. I know that carbon build up is a factor, but I clean my gun thoroughly every time I shoot it. I usually just take a cleaning rod and ease the casing out. I have no problems whatsoever firing wolf w/o my suppressor. Today it happened after about 6 magazines. Suggestions? |
