I have been having alot of problems sighting my scope in at 100 yards on my ar-15 16 in. It has a carry handle with a 3x9x40 simmons scope. It doesnt matter what scope mount I use it always losens up from my carry handle while shooting. I have used shoot n see targets and its still hard to see where teh bullet is hitting. I took the gun to a Local dealer and he was unable to bore sight the gun because of some reason with the height of the scope to muzzle. Any suggestions? I am alos having probelms with getting the cross hairs on the scope level with the gun IE the initinal setting of hte scope onto the rail. I have one stripped hex nut that I can not get off to turn the scope so the cross hairs are level. Any suggestions on getting the hex bolt out? IE heating freezing the scope etc..... I am also looking for someone to thread my barrel. Local Machine shops are unwilling to work with me and no Manuafacture of Ar-15's will Thread barrels. Could I please get a good reference. I have alot of problems removing the barrel of my ar. I use a Armors wrench bought from bushmaster but I have to much trouble wiht the wrench slipping off of the nut. I striped one nut doing this and had to buy a new one. Any tips? Yes The gun is in a vice with a vice block. How accurate should I be able to shoot with a 3x9x40 scope at 100 yards. ie bullet spread. Last but not least iron sight shooting. As much as I try I cannot figure out iron sight shooting. When I look through the cicle "rear sight" and then the front sight where should the line up. Dead center inbetween the circle I know but where does the front sight go when I shoot. Should it cover the target or should the bullet go where the tip of the front sight is. I have a few links to alot of funny stuff I would like for all of you to enjoy. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/3cops.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/copshootsleg.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/policecaught.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/copnearmiss.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/taserguncop.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/gernadewash.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/guyfallsonbeach.html http://www.big-boys.com/articles/urinalknock.html The ones in red are the best. Opy Unload the weapon, and separate the upper and lower half. Then use the longest hall in your house and post a sighting target on the wall, a couple of feet from the floor. Next take your scoped upper half, prop it up on pillows, and sight down the bore – onto the posted target. Then adjust the scope for the bore-sighted point of aim. This should get you close enough to start sighting in at twenty-five yards. Measure the center height of your scope above the centerline of your barrel, and adjust your scope so the point of impact is that number lower than your point of aim. Then at 100 yards you should be a few shots away from a good zero. MB |
