My bushy 20" Hbar short strokes with some brands of commercial ammo, specificallyAE223 and PMC. Works great with Q3131A, XM193 and XM855 which I know are hotter. Called Bushmaster and they suggested carrier key check. The key is tight and staked on. Then they said to check the gas tube where it inserts into the sight base for carbon. The tube has carbon on it for about 2" behind the sight base as does the inside of the upper hand guard shield. This rifle only has about 200-300 rounds through it. Bushmaster then told me to remove the tube and reinstall same with Loctite. I would think that this should not be necessary on such a new rifle unless that's what they do on their new production. Removed gas tube pin but could not extract tube from base. Have since read a few removal hints posted here and will try them. Would like opinion on the Loctite "fix"or should I just get a new tube and install same. Also, could this be a partial misalignment of gas port to FSB problem.
                                                   Thanks,  Moigr

Factory Bushy-had it about 2 years but rarely used. After 1 year I guess the warrenty is gone.

Rifle is lubed?  Buffer spring lubed?  If they are, try swapping out buffer springs.  My freins Bushy would short stroke, then I swapped buffer springs with Armalite, and Bing, his problem solved.  No prob,. with my rifle with his spring either.

Every thing cleaned and lubed with FP 10. Still would like opinion on the Bushmaster advice to "loctite" the tube into the FSB. If I had to change out the tube in the future, how tough would this be to remove?

warrant\y is still good, send it back, short stroke is one of the hardest thing to correct

Thanks, Tweak
Bushy says warranty problem must have been made known to them within 1yr. and 10 days of purchase date. I am guessing that you do not recommend loctiting the tube in the FSB.

blue loctite not so hard, if you shoot the rifle you will be replacing the tube. try a different tube first, spend more than $20 on it.

I thought BFI's warranty was longer
