Howdy,
I just built my first rifle.   Standard A2 kit on an Ameetec lower.   The trigger pin continually walks out to the right and then the bolt carrier locks up on it.   The only way I can fix it is by poping the front pin to get the carrier to go home, then popping the back and getting the upper off so I can get the pin back in.   Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Your hammer spring is supposed to keep the trigger pin in place.  It (the spring) is probably on backwards.   Go to the information section and look at the pics.

I think I put the spring on like the photo above... any other suggestions?

I'm guessing that the hammer spring is coming from the top of the coil, instead of from the bottom as shown.  It is a common mistake, I've made it before (took me a long time to figure it out).  The legs of the spring need to come out from the bottom of the spring coil, paralel to the main line of the rifle.  And the need to rest in the groove of the triger pin.  If this is the way your rifle is done, it should not walk.

Ok, I'll take a look at it again... tomorrow... thanks Currahee...

PS.  nice handle!

also make sure that the diameter of the hammer spring wire is small enough to engage the annular groove in the T pin.

Fellas,
You hit the problem spot on.   I just turned the spring around in that lower and a second I built up a few weeks ago (still waiting on the parts for the upper to arrive from RRA).  Its got a ton more tension like that.   Thanks for the help!   I love this site!

Tweak,  you may want to add this to the FAQ on the troubleshooting page...  I did look there first before posting this (though I could have missed it).

It's covered in detail here.

Look in Section Three.

Tweak,
I appreaciate your help, and I hate to sound argumentative, but I just got done with reading the page you linked above and reviewing the diagrams.   While the subtle difference to how to put the hammer spring in is Illustrated...

I then move on to the FAQ list:ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=66&t=187139 doesn't list "walking trigger pins" as a FAQ and list a fix.   I'm suggesting to add a link to this thread in there.

It just seemed like its burried, and I figure this has to be somewhat common...

Totally, as that section states improper assembly is one of the leading causes of AR malfs.
