[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Arms 40L install problem?

So I got the ARMS 40L Back up Iron sight and tried to slide it over the A3 rail on the top of the reciever of a Colt Match Target Competiton HBAR...

It wouldn't fit. it was too tight...upon measurement the rail on the reciver was about 2 thousands too big? I tried the sight on a budies A3 and it worked fine. I tried another ARMS BUIS and it wouldn't fit either.

Anyone else have this problem..what's the fix? Does colt oversize their picatinny rails on the A3 upper?

Than the slot on the BUIS...

The rail on the A3 is bigger that the slot on the 40l

Ari,

Have you tried another 40L? I have one that I purchased in May on my RRA upper. Maybe ARMS has a bad batch? Are you going to the 3-gun match at WSA on Sat? If you would like to see if there is any difference, you can try mine on your gun.

Tried a different one it fit fine on another upper...tried another ARMS sight...it wouldn't fit either.

Maybe I should file off a thousand off either side.
