While at the range today, I experienced a failure of my titanium firing pin.

I'd heard of this, but thought it just so much 'urban legend'.  Guess again.

Luckily, I had an inexpensive steel pin in my range bag. (maybe I subconsciously bought into the legend.)

Anyone else have this issue?

I did with Titanium hammers and sears in 1911 competition guns.

Its a gimmick....go steel and be happy.

Titanium fire control parts do ZERO for your weapon, other than cause headaches.  It's a marketing ploy to get into your wallet.  Stay with stock firing pins.

Don't take it personally. That's what titanium fire control parts of all kinds do: BREAK.
