next dumb thing  today I shot my oley for the second session  this time it jamed and I cleared it with the cocking device at the back but the last time it won't clear and when it fired it had a jet of gas trough the mag.
how do I get the bolt open to see what has happened
ammo was reloads that were loaded for my mini14
60 grain hp  with 20 grains of reloader 7  this is a mild load  and the mini loves them

Lots of ways to get the bolt back. Have you tried driving the buttstock into the ground while pulling on the charging handle? Make sure to collapse the collapsible stock if there is one. Barring that you can pry the bolt carrier to the rear by inserting a wedge between the rear face of the barrel extension and the front of the bolt carrier.

How many times have you loaded those cases?

this is the first reload
but my oley must have a problem there is a bulg on the fired brass on the lower end on one side only   at first I tought this might just be the 556 chamber but my sons oley has no such buldge so there is something wrong with this one I  intend to call first thing in the morning and see how they want to handle it
their dealer will be back in town this week end for a gun show and if they don't talk right in the morning it will go back to him this saturday

thanks for the info tweak

The radius leading into the chamber is probably too large. Saw that often there.

would that cause the case to have a bulge on one side?
