is the passage that the detent for the safe selector one size all the wat thru? or is it, for lack of a better term counter sunk a little bit...my detent pin will not pass all the way thru, just a little bit past where the tip maxes out.

It's the same diameter all the way through. Yours may have a burr which is preventing the detent pin from traveling all the way forward. Suggest you take a proper sized drill bit and turn it BY HAND--NOT IN A DRILL into the hole to remove the burr.

and if that doesnt work, double check your using the right pin! Sometiems they are hard to tell apart even for folks who have put a bunch of lowers together.

The selector detent hole in the lower is not the same size all the way through and the detent should not pass all the way through the hole. The hole is supposed to have a step in it and the larger end ot the detent catches the step when it is in all the way. Go back and check the prints.

Check the d-d section mid ways up the right side of that drawing you can see the step in the hole.
