I think I've got a mag problem here... but I'm not sure how to correct it. Any advice appreciated.
Mag is well-used USGI, cleaned up inside and out. There is some damage to the mag on the base and some scuffs on the feed lips. The rifle feeds fine with other mags. The bolt won't pick up a new round out of this one. Taking off the upper, the feed lip height and insertion height appear to match the height of other mags (functional). And ideas?

Weak Spring? Resistance on the follower caused by dents or "dry" interior mag wall? Burr on underside of feed lip?

Hobbit, If you IM me an e-mail address , I will send you Photo's. There is a tweak to save the weak spring, or you can just replace the weak spring with a new one and be down with the problem.

The problem is the spring is weak and as the carrier comes back, the top round is pushed down.  Instead of the round poping all the way back up, the rear of the round stays down a little and the bolt just passes over the top.

My spring tweak puts more force across the round, and at the back to make sure that the round comes back up; flush with the feed lips.

Could also be that your Mag Release needs to be adjusted up to hold the mag higher in the well.

The mag catch tweak is used to correct the angle of feed from the mag. The sign that a catch is too loose is when the round is stripped, but the tip is jammed into the barrel extension, below the feed ramps.

If the bolt is completely passing over the top of the top round, the mag spring/follower is not raising the top round back up after the carrier passes over the top.
