Gentleman,

I recently built an AR with a RR reciever and a M A parts 16" A4 Postban kit c/w A2 Stock. Upon initial shooting, I noticed a tremendous amount of vibration from the stock. Any thoughts or tips?

Is it a vibration or is it more like a "boing" like a spring. If so it's normal. If it's excessive there are things you can do to calm it down. I've grown to like it!

Its definitely the spring "boing"...It is pretty annoying...more excessive than any other AR15 or M16 I have shot....This was my first venture into assembling one so I wanted to make sure that wasn't the last sound a guy hears before they have a pile of parts in their lap....Any tips?

Some guys coat the spring with grease. I don't because grease attracts dirt, and I don't like grunge in my weapon. Another option is one of the hydraulic buffers from Olympic, but they cost about $120 or so.
Look at it this way - it's an audible signal that you just ran out of ammo since the spring won't go boing when the bolt locks back...

Edited to add - you might want to try a different spring. And I do believe there is a spring on the market that is supposed to cure the problem. It's called the "Speedlock" spring by David Tubb. I'll try to find a link.
