Alright, so I bought my first AR last week. Went with an Aero Precision AC15m. I was wanting to put a rail on it. I've been looking around at options. Being a midlength gas system seems to limit my options quite a bit. I am wanting to keep the FSB as I like the look and durability that seems to come with it. Could I put a 9 inch rail on the rifle and keep the fsb? I know they have the cutout rails but those are another $100-$150. I'm not dead set against getting something like the Centurian C4 but curious if I could fit a 9 inch rail.

Any input would be awesome!

Get the Centurion mid length FSP cutout rail. You will not regret it.

I put a Surefire drop in rail on mine.

I think Troy Industries makes one that is extended for fsb cutout?

Daniel Defense makes a drop in that locks up tight also.

If you want free float, Centurian is way nice, as stated above.

The 9'' C4 will work fine.

But you will wish you had the cutout.
