I just use the handles of a pair of channel lock pliers.  Buttstock down, handles on the delta ring, pull down, done.

Delton has them for $15, they are decent.

I got mine from Brownells.  I mostly forget to use it.  Some new guns are really tight and that reminds me to use the tool.

I do it by hand now, before I got the hang of it, I used channel lock handles also.

Had a tight one couldn't do by hand, bought a cheap $12 tool from Academy and it has worked well.

I bought a cheap tapco set, I could do all of mine by hand except for my colt, it's really tight.
