ARFCOM member gunman53 and I went out in horrendous humidity and shot the only box of loaded 5.56 ammo I have on hand: 20 rounds of American Eagle 55gr FMJ using a black paper target unsuitable for accuracy testing
The furthest distance one can shoot on his property is about 18 yards. And I have poor eyesight and wear bifocals.
But the rifle functions flawlessly and given the parameters of the day I shot a decent group. For a "mil-spec" PSA fire control group the trigger is actually really decent. Windage doesn't seem to be an issue. Elevation is slightly off but that can be remedied during a future range visit at a proper distance with a proper accuracy adjusting target. I'm very pleased with the outcome given I scrimped and saved for nearly 2-1/'2 years during some very lean times. |

I'm not totally sold on the SL-K stock. I had planned on getting a MOE SL stock and farted around until JoeBob sold out of OEM's on sale so I got the "K" version. I don't think it has enough toe for me.
I'll likely put an SL stock on it as funds allow. Right now I'm putting my money into reloading 223. |

I dumped the SL-K and went back to M4 waffles, much happier. Glad your live fire function test went smooth. Only one box of 20??? You need am ammo sale. Also, if you aren't attached to magpul, the hogue stock is very nice and has more toe. It fits tight on the tube! I got a hogue stock and grip for $50 and about $3 s&h from classic firearms. Btw, how do you like the sl grip? I've tried the moe and k2, but thinking I'd match up sl grip with SL-k stock. Oh yeah, nice looking rifle you got there. |

The sl-k is about the size of the old car stocks. I got a sl-k recently, the thing I like about it is that it is snug on the tube. I was out hunting and I could hear my m4 stock rattling on the tube! I like being silent! The m4 stock came off as soon as I got home. What I can't understand is why the sl costs 50% more than the sl-k? I plan on buying a couple more sl-k stocks. I find the SL grip very comfortable as I have short fingers. |

Yeah, I'll definitely be replacing the SL-K stock with the regular SL stock.
On a whim I installed an FDE SL stock purchased at a gunshow last month ($20 clearance) for use on a second build. Much better. WAY much better. So I'll use the FDE stock until a I get one in a matching color. |
