Hi!

I am putting together a 16" 9MM upper.  It will just be for simple range work fun, nothing serious, or anything like a carbine course.  I have been looking at a Matrix Arms 13" Keymod version, but since I want to put a vertical grip on it, I am concerned about the lack of anti-rotation tabs.  Anyone have any insight on this handguard?

Looking at E-Bay, there are a large number of Chinese knock-offs, but I have no idea what is worth bothering with.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I went with a noveske 13.5 nqd on my latest build, it's very solid I like it a lot. Steer clear of Chinese garbage.

ALG is an awesome choice, for any budget. They're inexpensive but very nice rails. I have 4 now and have no intention of stopping.

The UTG I just installed had a nice fit and feels pretty solid.

I get mine off of EE. A $200 handguard will be reduced to the &70-125 range. Just scored one this morning and saved $125.  One of the few things on EE that is a real bargain.

Here's a review on your Matrix product:

I also looked for some images of them, unfortunately the barrel nut looks almost polished smooth where the hand guard clamps on to it. This is an easy enough "fix" if you're willing to invest a few minutes worth of elbow grease to save a buck or two, but just thought I'd point it out to you.

I have both alg and utg. Both very nice good price (alg. Was a little more) but the alg was the v3 I believe and the utg was the ss. Good quaility on both the alg barrel but seemed a little beefier. Will buy both again

Matrix is tight. I've had no issues. UTG pro , Fortis Rev II, and BCM are all great choices
