The barrel of the month for my 6.5G build (18" AA) is just natural bead blasted SS so it is silver.
Is the non-bake Ceracoat/Duracoat type coatings worthwhile vs the baked ones? Aerosol Duracoat sounds the most user friendly. Take the heat of a barrel ok? Still sorting out which way I am going with this yet... if the SS color will be a big deal and if so if I want to follow thru with this barrel and change the color or keep looking. |

Works great, is very durable and easily touched up. You can start with a coat of Rustoleum primer, but its really not necessary. Take care to mask your barrel before spraying, you definitely don't want any paint on the journal for the gas block. Ask me how I know. - CW |

I started out thinking black engine paint. But the rifle has OD green buffer tube and charging handle... so I got to thinking making the barrel match that would be neat. Everything else on it is black.
I am not locked into anything yet, I haven't even ordered the barrel. Just feeling out different options right now. |
