<p style="text-align:left">I attempted to simply mount the Faxo</p>n pencil barrel to my Aero Precision upper using a POF Renegade barrel nut and hand guard. The barrel nut screws on without the barrel but doesn't come close to the threads with the barrel installed. It's like the inside diameter of the barrel nut is not big enough or am I missing something?

Is your index pin in its slot? Is the nut threaded on both ends? Your question of barrel nut ID makes zero sense since you stated it'll thread on without the barrel. The shoulder on the barrel extension is slightly smaller than the receiver threads, correct? |

i think you found your issue
put the barrel in the upper without the barrel nut. is the shoulder level or taller than the tooth of the threads? sounds to me as the barrel is out of spec. the barrel nut should slide over the shoulder of the barrel as if it was threading on the upper receiver. try it. if it threads on the upper fine, the nut and upper are fine, the barrel shoulder is fucked. shit happens, no big deal. call faxon. |
